I discard the pulp. I use an auger type juicer. I've read that a large percentage of the pesticides stay in the pulp with this type of juicer. Occasionally the pulp will find itself on parts of my yard that look like they need fertilizer (or pesticides?):D. I always keep some of the solid veggies to eat whole, too.

On a related note: I eat a lot of egg whites. I separate and freeze the yokes until garbage collection day...for obvious reasons. ;)

You can buy egg whites is what look like small milk cartons. They come refrigerated and have no additives, just egg whites. I have buying egg whites for years but just recently decided to give it a rest for awhile. I'm also eating 3 whole hardboiled eggs a week these days and am considering going crazy by upping it to 4. Wild times.

I've been thinking about going that route, at least partially. I looked at a few brands a few weeks ago (egg beaters and a few others), but I think the cost difference is substantial. I get jumbo eggs for .98 a dozen, and get almost a cup out of 4 eggs. That said, it would be nice to have the carton on hand. Do you know approximately how many eggs are in the quart size whites? They run between 4 and 6 dollars a quart depending on the brand where I live.

The small cartons contain about 7 egg whites, and the larger ones, double that. The larger carton looks to be about a half pint in size. These are the sizes that are available to me here in Canada. As for price, from what I recall it is more economical that buying whole eggs and discarding the yolks. But then, you seem to be able to get whole eggs quite cheaply, so it may be different for you and me.

(I think "Egg Beaters" is an egg substitute product. I prefer the real deal.)

Egg yolks are pretty good for your (or your neighbor's) pooch. In moderation of course. Lots of nutrients for an active dog and great for their coat. No reason to throw them out.

"Food" is not considered the body's primary food. It is sleep and how you handle stress. If those are not in check then you can eat the healthiest of foods and still be unhealthy. "Food" is a secondary food. Look up the studies. peace.
