Just now sold SM1, Synlait Milk. 2660 x $9.91
Have held this since May 8th, it ran up quite hard after buying @ $9.51, it went all the way to $12.20 and now falling. 4% profit which is crap, but better than a loss.
My stops system has been wanting of late, some of this due to spending more time looking at buying than selling via the creation of the algo.
Anyhow, today I created a new stop alert system which alerts me to problems via a live spreadsheet.
My broker offers an online alert system but it's too labour intensive and looking at charts as an alternative is not ideal either.
 
Just now sold out BVS, Bravura Solutions, IT/software Company in finance industry.
Profit after brokerage 37%.
The ASX market is not looking good atm, struggling to get ahead, October I doubt I will buy anything, will keep powder dry until November.
There are several stocks I'm keen to buy but there just seems too much risk about this month which is notorious for volatility.
My algo will give me a buy signal but after a couple of days these same stocks just seem to get slammed down again, all it's doing is mounting brokerage costs and losses due to slippage.
Gold and other metals are attempting a recovery but not convincingly enough.
My data is currently showing about 80% of ASX stocks are trading below their weekly lows.

Flurry of activity in the household this morning.
Our mkt where I live opens at 7am.
I was awake throughout the night looking at USA action and imo USA is nose diving, support collapsed.
I dumped 2 positions on ASX open and bought 5 positions.
Sold BPT, Beach Energy, oil/gas, 13,288 x $1.795, took a loss 7%
Sold IMD, Mining Equip supplier, 19,000 x $1.225, took a loss 6.4%
Bought AMI, Gold, Auriel, 6500 x $0.77, topping up an existing holding
Bought EVN, Gold, Evolution 10,300 x $2.90
Bought RSG, Gold, Resolution, 10,000 x $1.05, topping up an existing holding
Bought SBM, Gold, St Barbara, 1500 x $3.93, topping up an existing holding
Bought SAR, Gold, Saracen, 14,500 x $2.09
Currently holding 17 different positions.

Quick roundup of today's action....
BPT which was sold today, fell another 3.3% from yday's close.
IMD which was sold today, went up 0.8% from yday's close.
AMI which was added to, initially fell 17% today but recovered a little, down 14%. Ouch!
AMI Came out with an announcement after my trade was placed. I'm still up 12.5% on my original purchase, will continue to hold as I'm confident this will recover.
EVN which was bought, increased 4.3% today from yday's close.
RSG which was added to, increased 9.3% today from yday's close.
SBM which was added to, increased 7.8% today from yday's close.
SAR which was bought, increased 5.2% today from yday's close.
 
Just now sold 30,000 OMH shares, OM Holdings, manganese mine, $1.558.
I bought this 3 times, profits are, 42%, 34% & 12% after brokerage fees.

I'm in catching a falling knife.
Taking a gamble today is the market low (might be short term) and tomorrow will see stocks jumping once again.

Just now bought more CAJ, Capitol Health, 20,000 x $0.275
I previously held 16,000 units bought at 33cents ea so underwater on these atm.
Buying more of these basically on current price action.

Market here going gangbusters, first 15 minutes of today portfolio up $6770.00
 
Just now bought TWE Treasury Wines, 650 x $15.71.
Reasons: Attempting to diversify my portfolio into other things other than metals/mining, however I would class this under the food group of which I'm holding 2 other positions, being milk powder companies.
TWE has a P/E = 32 and growth on price chart is steady at around 40%pa.
TWE has had a nice pullback which makes for a good entry.
Altold I'm now holding 21 positions.
Have decided in future to keep my position sizes quite small and hold around 30-40 quality non speculative positions in the portfolio in order to keep my curve as smoothe as possible.
