Everything is down..
crude down almost 2 bucks
gasoline down almost 14 cents

Sell the rumour, sell the fact...

Looks like this might be the bottom here soon, at least for a short term swing higher back to 120ish...
 
Newbie here,

Can you tell me why the oil markets are open this morning? Don't they normally open at 5:00pm central time?
I don't understand why they have the earlier open today.

Any explanation is appreciated. Also... if markets are set to open at an unusual time, where is that sort of news posted?

Oil markets opened early because of Hurricane Ike, same with Gustav a couple weeks ago.

The market anticipates news, usually overreacting.

By the time you see the news on TV, the market has already discounted it.
