Why not focus your time on something a bit more productive? Finish reading Barron's, spend some time w/ your girl, work out, surf a little porn, etc -- ANYTHING other than spend time on a useless thread!

I did try to read the explanation about spyware in that link, but my computer shut down with "illegal operation", and when it started up again there were a couple software downloads I had not requested ("Stop-Sign" was one) that started up on my computer. So I did not go back to continue reading the explanation of spyware, I feel somehow more suspicious of that site. There were also at least two obvious mispellings on that site, just in the subject headings.
If anyone cares to give an actual straightforward explanation of what spyware and what gator are, they can send it to my PM box.
