If Sun's CEO and board of directors does decide to take the company private how would that effect the industry? How exactly does a company on the verge on tanking generate enough assests to buy back all public shares?
They wait untill the shares are cheap enough to secure financing . The lending banks that have access to their biz plan and books will tell them when that is. Then they get sued by the shareholders that claim they deliberately let the biz slide to reduce the share price to buyback specs. The lending banks have factored this all in. Personally I think Sun is deader than a doornail. The industry won't give a tinkers damn. Open source is the future like it or not. Bet against it if you like, counterfieting is impossible to beat in the long run.
