sorry for bit angry tone, but when you read same questions again and again day by day-it is really boring and prove that most of people prefer create new post with their list of questions unstead using search.
I am quite familiar with using the standard search here on ET and have done it many times, although, often, I can't seem to get the specific answers I need.
I apologize to you Bob that I am new, but everybody here has been a newbie--and many before we could even use the internet to trade.
I used to be on a AV board (hometheaterforum.com), and, yes, newbies were sometimes annoying with repetitive questions, but they were still tolerated because we all shared the love for the topics enough that we would either explain it again or at minimum, point them to a thread that might be useful.
I am no stranger to searching on the web, or searching on this board. Although, I must admit, I have not come across a subject matter with the sheer volume that online trading has. I have compiled a lot of information for myself thus far, but sometimes, one just has question(s) that need to be ask directly, as opposed to pouring through 50 threads to get the answer you need.
I am sure you are not being rude, but IMHO, you are being a bit intolerant.
That being said, I appreciate the information you did provide, I just wish it wasn't said with such an overweening tone. I understand the daytrading rules...(if I said something erroneous, please point it out to me). When beginning my switch from web-based (Ameritrade) trading to direct-access swing/trend/momentum trading, I was told by someone (here I believe) to get a a quote provider, a broker, and a chart provider. So I went about doing just that. I went by the lists here at ET and thought I had made some intelligent decisions, but thought I would also throw out my ideas to the board to get a reaction. I am just trying to things right. If what I have is overkill, then I will seriously consider skipping eSignal and use QT.
I had looked at WL, but had thought that I needed to have a chart provider work in real time (at first). I am having trouble getting a TWS demo to run, so I don't know if that will be enough. But I can assure you, I will investigate it.
I have tried to end these posts with the utmost respect for those who reply to me by thanking everyone for the "hand-holding". I understand this is topic may be a bit tired, but I thought there was some camaraderie here nonetheless.
