Suggested Charting Software

Quote from piranahfishy:

No secret answer here: eSignal, Tradestation seem to be the market leaders here.

Probably two of your worst possible choices. eSignal data feed is crap.

I'm happy with Amibroker but I am as interested in systems development/backtesting as I am in charting.

Try a few trials and see what appeals to you.

I'll have to admit, the charting capability of Quotetracker is pretty damn impressive!

And Jerry is super fast in replying back with e-mails to your customer support questions.

Just an amazing product.
Very well thought out!

Is that what you use?

NEWSFLASH

This just in. Quotetracker now has:
  • 20 days on intraday charts for TD AMERITRADE Clients, including backfill
  • multiple symbols on the same chart with dynamic or static anchor points (both intraday and historical charts)
  • ability to edit individual indicator parameters by just double clicking on the indicator legend on the chart
  • right click on the indicator legend on the chart for options like delete indicator, edit parameters, or in the case of extra symbol indicator, to backfill that extra symbol

LOL, this amount of power makes me feel like I was charting by hand when I first started out! :p

See for yourself ... quotetracker.com

I noticed they added the ability to chart multiple symbols on the same chart, but does anyone know how to do this with QT? I've downloaded the beta, but can't find any info on how to set this up.

Neoticker - is the best in my opinion , its one of those hidden gems in the market place , few people know of its true capabilities , its far superior to similar products such as tradestation or metastock ...

Quote from MandelbrotSet:

You cannot go back further than 10 days for intra-day trading ... period.

Yeah, I know this sounds weired, but it's true. There's a rumor that if you have an account with Ameritrade you can boost it up to 20 days, but I cannot substantiate that.

This rule has forced me to keep detailed notes and screen shoots of my trading, as well as playout different scenarios by heart (had to memorize all the days charting).

Utlimately, it has worked out to make me a better trader. :)

Good trading.

I assume you mean tick data, as the program will backfill historical charts. Haven't done any data scrubbing on it though.

Agreed.

Quote from MandelbrotSet:

I've tried out 5 of the charting services listed over the years (at great cost of time, money and energy to myself).

And for my money, no one beats Quotetracker for intraday-trading.

Good Luck.
