I have a question for successful traders in here making >$150k / year.
Why do you stay in the US or other high tax country? Why don't you pack up and go to a 0% capital gains tax country, or set up a corporation abroad in which your capital can grow tax free?
What are your reasons? Not criticizing you, just trying to understand your thought process. I'm sure there are valid reasons.
cause only 1% are successful traders.
as for taxes.
people are paying 20% tax to have the privillege to be living in a free country where your assets won't be confiscated or kidnapped like cayman islands.
most succesful traders have families. it'ts for the family why don't move.

they are okay with pay 20% tax. cause 0% tax is fraud. three is a reason some island ony has 0% income tax. you get nothing from the gov't there, you better have you own security guard .and no public schools.

I hope folks know the rule.. IRS.. if you are a US citizen and live abroad.. after 365 days or 183. days or some # you become an expat.. so u dont have to pay taxes on the first 90K of your WORLD WIDE income..
http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Inte...oreign-Earned-Income-Exclusion---Requirements
so if u r in this boat, u dont really need to renounce your citizenship.
in Costa rica. as per fair calculations, if you can blend in ..one can live like a king in 2-3K a month..( with part time maid/gardener,cook) etc.
sometimes have too much money is a headache. ha ha. go figure..

Some of your points are valid to the discussion but why the need to post in a spamming mode ?
As of public schools, well, do you know many succesful traders/business people who send their kids to the public school ? They are definetely a minority.
Which reminds me of a beloved island where I understood it is possible to trade tax free, at least for a while :
Spitzbergen
Ironically one issue is there are ONLY public schools there.
Another issue is outside the snowmobile season it must be quite boring there, and Missus would prolly divorce me if I was serious about living full time in Svalbard![]()
