Successful option spread trader

Do you trade the futures or the options on futures?
 
I'm not sure why the preference for futures vs. options. I feel far more comfortable with trading verticals, iron condors, calendars, etc... Futures is more difficult for me and my account is evidence of this :)
 
even if you cannot see the RUT index price on the market data lines in TWS, you will be able to see it in the option trader module
