Suburbia RIP

Quote from marketsurfer:

I bought a rundown mansion in 1993, back when no one wanted one ( on the market for 9 years previous ). sold it in 1997, for a small profit--- 2 more years of holding, the profit would have been substantial. This article gives me the idea that this could be done again very soon..... this time i hope to hold for the right time without getting shaken out....

Omigosh Surf - I had a friend with a townhouse in the exact same time-frame. He tried selling it from 1993 - 1998 - NO DICE. Couldn't get the price HE PAID originally ! He finally sold in 2000....for a tiny profit. Had he held till 2006, he would have doubled his money !

Real Estate a bigger scam than the stock market.

Maybe the great unwashed finally got the message.

And the commissions those vultures get? Makes $200 stock trades years ago look like bargains.

Ya think maybe those outsized fees encourage unreasonable promises to buyers?

Quote from Ticketwatcher:

He ain't TALKING, dude.

He be writing.

And as a writer, he has a substantial body of work, which indicates that when he commits a word to print, it is preceded by a thought, as opposed to you, who just be blowing smoke out your ass.

I tank I kno da difference between talkin' an writin' dude.
