substitute for gm in a short stock basket

any ideas what you could use in place of gm (impossible to borrow) in a short stock basket..ie dow basket???

options won't work because strategy is used on the open...

Cant you sell a single stock future? Dont see how that would be impossible to borrow. Or sell a Contract for Difference.
