Stupid CPU hogging websites....

Yes, our own venerable site is a CPU hog...probably due to shitty javascript created by outsourced Indian programmers....natch.

I use the the process manager of Glary Utilities to track the CPU consumption over time. It is so much superior to Windows Task Manager.

Any comments and suggestions greatly appreciated !

I usually use Edge on Win10 on an Intel dual core i5-7200U, and ET shows an average of 1-2% while idle, and a spike to 15% or so when clicking forums. This seems totally normal to me. This site is lightweight.

Thanks for all of the tips guys. I once was a fervent user of Firefox, but it kept hanging up when over 20 tabs were opened.
When did they finally clean it up ?

Funny you should say that...
I ran the test from that link as well, and although the test proved negative for me, my AVAST picked up a threat during the scan:

coinhive.min was infected with BV:Miner-T [Trj]

Possibly a false positive when the popup arose, but noteworthy nonetheless.

Run 10 different anti virus programs and you will have 10 different results. Not a single program detects everything.

Actually my problem now has been diagnosed to a USB port driver issue.....especially for the Logitech mouse I use. Logitech has been totally worthless in resolving it.
They used to be a great company.
I must remove and then re-insert the USB wireless transmitter twice daily.
Otherwise, the mouse becomes so slow as to be useless.
