Canada is on many levels doing better for the middle and lower classes then the US is. The US is increasingly about enriching the richest 1% at the expense of almost everyone else. If it's working out for you, congratulations on that, but don't doubt for a minute that many Canadians live great lives without some of the drags about current day US ( precarious health care, proliferation of guns, constant political acrimony, urban slums / poverty ). For most Americans, your tax advantages have disappeared compare to Canadians. It is unclear how many are employed in precarious or shitty work in either country, so I won't hazard a guess on that. I just wouldn't want to be unemployed or poor in the US you'd be screwed if you got sick or got hit by a natural disaster. I suppose you've got the lawyers to sue the hell out of each other when things get bad but that seems precarious too.
