Student wins $100,000 in Interactive Brokers Collegiate Olympiad

So as a college finance grad (with no programming experience) I see absolutely no future for myself in the trading arena unless I get some hardcore programming experience.

Am I close?
 
are fucking retarded? ofcourse you can make it without programing knowledge. But you need to be good at the trading part. Something that sets you apart from others. If everyone starts using programed trading, then it will cancel each other out. human component causes market inefficiencies which brings opportunity. progammed trading is overrated.

So what were the top 5 traders' winning strategy? Or is IB keeping it a secret in case the students decide to open hedge funds :).

I don't think they'll be sharing the winning strategies.
