4:10PM Accenture beats by $0.03, beats on revs; guides Q3 revs above consensus; guides FY11 EPS above consensus, revs above consensus (ACN) 51.96 +1.29 : Reports Q2 (Feb) earnings of $0.75 per share, $0.03 better than the Thomson Reuters consensus of $0.72; revenues rose 9.3% year/year to $6.05 bln vs the $5.74 bln consensus. New bookings for the quarter were $6.98 billion, with consulting bookings of $3.80 billion and outsourcing bookings of $3.18 billion. Co issues upside guidance for Q3, sees Q3 revs of $6.3-6.5 bln vs. $6.08 bln Thomson Reuters consensus. Co issues upside guidance for FY11, sees EPS of $3.22-3.30 vs. $3.14 Thomson Reuters consensus; sees FY11 revs of $23.92-24.56 bln vs. $23.82 bln Thomson Reuters consensus. Accenture continues to expect operating margin for the full fiscal year to be in the range of 13.6 percent to 13.7 percent. The company now expects operating cash flow to be $2.8 billion to $3.0 billion; now expects property and equipment additions to be $420 million; and continues to expect free cash flow to be in the range of $2.4 billion to $2.6 billion. The company continues to expect its annual effective tax rate to be in the range of 28 percent to 29 percent. Accenture continues to target new bookings for fiscal 2011 in the range of $25 billion to $28 billion.

S&P MidCap 400 constituent Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (NYSE: EW) will replace Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) in the S&P 500 index, S&P SmallCap 600 constituent The Cooper Companies Inc. (NYSE: COO) will replace Edwards Lifesciences in the S&P MidCap 400 index, and Koppers Holdings Inc. (NYSE: KOP) will replace The Cooper Companies in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading on Thursday, March 31. Qwest Communications International is being acquired by S&P 500 constituent CenturyLink Inc. (NYSE: CTL) in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date, pending final approvals.

In addition, Oracle said its “Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.06 per share of outstanding common stock, reflecting a 20% increase over the previous quarter’s dividend of $0.05.”
 
EW........good thing about adding to S&P 400 is that EW is not a high profile stock like AAPL, so many funds already own AAPL for example.
