Excerpt from: http://www.newsmax.com/showinsidecover.shtml?a=2002/9/28/145441

"Dr. Khidir Hamza, who ran Saddam's nuclear program before he defected to the U.S. in 1994, said earlier this year that the Iraqi dictator was working on a Hiroshima-sized nuclear weapon and that he had all the components necessary except for enriched uranium."

it's sort of funny but earlier reports have come under scrutiny saying that there are only grams as opposed to pounds of uranium seized from the "taxi"....this is getting even more suspicious. and why was "made in west germany" written in english. sort of odd.........

Good points RS7.

Believe it or not, I was very liberal when I was in college. Once I left college, I slowly began to realize the true extent of the liberal programming I had received. I was taught that white males are evil, republicans are evil, the military is evil, and capitalism is evil. Well, I have since learned what is evil and what isn't, and my emotion and conservatism flows from that.

and you're still being brainwashed......now you are a neocon.

This also is what could be considered "odd,' but in reality is just typical liberal news reporting:

" Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 11:30 a.m. EDT
Media Mum on Turk Nuke Bombshell; GOP Divided on Danger

Twenty-four hours after the Reuters news agency first reported that Turkish police seized what they believe is a record quantity of weapons grade uranium just 155 miles from the Iraqi border, most U.S. news outlets have declined to cover the story.

Even as a top Senate Republican called the development potentially "dangerous" Sunday morning, none of the three major New York Sunday newspapers, including the New York Times, decided to carry the report in their print editions. (The Times did have the Reuters report available on its Web site.)

Likewise in Washington, the Washington Post decided to embargo the news for now, in both its Web and online editions, leaving the Turkish nuke bombshell for the Washington Times to report. "

lol lol lol do you know why these "liberal" media outlets dropped the story??? because it turned out to be a dud!!!! 33 lbs became 33 grams.... the post and times both want this war so bad they can taste it they just realized this story was BS.

this is not about liberal vs conservative....it is about patriotism. the post and times are frothing at the mouth for us to do the dirty work against iraq.

Point me to a story in either that is indicative of that attitude.

Point me to a story in either that is indicative of that attitude.

here's the reason the post and the times dropped the story:

Turk Police Say Seized Uranium
Only 5 Ounces, Not 33 Lbs!
9-29-2

DIYARBAKIR (Reuters) - A Turkish police official said on Sunday the amount of uranium recently seized by officers was around 5 ounces and did not weigh 33 lbs as initially reported.

The state-run Anatolian news agency on Saturday reported that paramilitary police in the southern province of Sanliurfa detained two men after discovering 15 kg of uranium in a lead container hidden beneath a taxi car seat.

i guess newsmax is a little late getting the facts. at least they printed their revision tonite at 7:04 pm.

That's not a verifiable reason, that is simply your opinion. In addition, the NYT posted it in three separate places on their web site:

what did they post??????? i am not going to fill out their questionaire just to read these stories. btw, you are the one that posted the news "embargo" by these outlets not me!!!! what is your point??? i pointed out that the story was bullsh*t to begin with....you linked a newsmax story that was incorrect and later rescinded by them this evening. believe me if there was 33 lbs the post and times would be all over it like oprah on a baked ham!!!!
