And now the humorous side of Traderfut2000 comes up, finally.
He is pro peace, as long as it his is achieved on his terms. He is not anti american, he just blames america for all the world's problems. Of course the US isn't 100% responsible, the Isrealis are the devil's presence in the middle east.
And we who disagree with him are "stupid" or "brainwashed".
Traderfut makes claims in which he states his opinions (or usually someone's who he has cut and pasted) as facts.
I truly thought Traderfut was an intelligent and reasonable man. I respected his insightful interpretation of the Koran when he was defending Islam in the thread about "the worst religion"
But now I see that being intelligent is meaningless if one is closed minded and fanatical in their beliefs. His political beliefs are scary. And his sense of history is non existent.
He was "too young" to remember what happened in the '72 Olympics. Well gee, seems like he must have internet access. But maybe his provider only allows him to access anti american and anti israeli sites. He could have informed himself about what happened with the monsters that disrupted the Olympics in the name of the PLO..and their saintly Mr. Peaceloving Arafat. And the criminal behavior of the German government in conspiring to help the prisoners escape.
But it is essential for him to post link after link of what he thinks validates what he believes. So we are subjected to his "opinions" and the self serving editorials of those with whom he agrees. Opinions are just that. Not facts.
So why does Traderfut cop out on the Olympic massacre? Because there is nothing BUT facts. And facts are irrelevant to Traderfut's arguments. Because they conflict what he says. And that is just too inconvienient.
I know that people debate issues here to try and get others to change their minds. Well, Traderfut has certainly managed to get me to change mine. I thought he was bright and objective and informed. But now I see he is narrow minded, full of hatred, militantly anti democracy, and totally uninformed. He is (as he loves to express it) "brainwashed" and convinced that the lies he is told are all true. And anything that disputes these lies are western propaganda.
I am proud to be an American. I am proud that America is a place founded on tolerance and freedom. I am proud that we can accomodate people from all over and welcome them to our shores. This way of life obviously left us vulnerable to attack last year, but still, in the big picture freedom never comes cheap.
But in the nations that Traderfut so admires, they haven't the vulnerability we have....unless they want a war. And not a war precipitated with a sneak attack (their style, not ours.....let's see, there was the attacks on Yom Kippur in 73, and then in Afghanistan the American forces tried to suspend bombing on the Islamic Holy days. And 9/11, well there are no words) . I don't want to see a war in iraq either. I don't think anyone wants that. But if it is the only way to depose a menace to humanity, sadly it is an option that must be considered.
And these arab nations...well they have one thing going for them..They are not vulnerable to terrorist attacks like we in the west are. Because they allow so little freedom that if one were to want to perpetrate an act of terrorism, it wouldn't be possible. No one can move about freely. But the real truth is, those with the mentality to commit acts of terror are all allied with those in power in those places anyway.
Imagine an Israeli or American suicide bomber with a religious or political agenda trying to score points by killing kids at a disco or a pizza place. Then imagine their leader...lets say Bush, or the infamous "war criminal" Sharon bestowing financial compensation to the family of the suicide bomber.
Doesn't happen. But still, all the violence, all the loss of innocent lives, all that is bad in the middle east is the fault of the Israelis and the evil US. Sounds like Hitler's scapegoat approach to power. It is the same thing. And it is dangerous that there are so many Tradrfuts out there that go along with this approach. He says he wants peace. But just not yet. Like Arafat, he must strive to achieve all his objectives and eliminate the disent before commiting to a war of aggessioon (again). What a joke.
Racial profiling is illegal here, but not elswhere. So those that wish to harm us put horrible pressure on their "brothers' here. But what do they care? It gives them something else to complain about.
Me, I can't even get into an Arab country anymore. So I can't get profiled because of my blue eyes and light hair.
Yes, I am certain that Traderfut will respond with how Israel killed 17000 starving orphaned little children. And Israel is a rogue state run by a war criminal. This is good that he will say this. Because I have not heard it enough times. Maybe a few more times and it will sink in through my thick head.
Up until a few weeks ago, I always thought that peace was attainable in the middle east. All that was required was the removal of Arafat, and the Palestinians could have their own nation. And that Saddam would fall eventually because the people of Iraq would someday soon say ''enough is enough". But now I have a further understanding of the mentality of the fanatical minds of the followers of the true descendants of Ismael. I am despondent that Traderfut has made me realize that there is NO reasoning with fanantics.
