Although I don't quite go to 20 reps, that sounds a bit like my current routine, except that for 3 of my exercises I do 2 sets each. It is these exercises for which I am considering doing a full set to failure, waiting about 15 seconds and then doing another set to failure, and then once again. The other exercises would remain at one set each, with a rest between them not exceeding 75 seconds (somewhere in the 60-75 seconds range).Like everything, I rotate in and out. Otherwise, the body just completely adapts if the method is used too long. I'm not currently using that method. At the moment, I'm doing whole-body workouts, 1 set per exercise, and usually I do about 9 exercises in total. The rep range varies between 15 - 20 reps per set. Once I can do 20 reps, I up the weight slightly for the next workout and that usually knocks the number of reps back down to 15. Rinse and repeat.![]()
How things have changed. I used to rest much longer between sets, and I almost never did them in the morning. Presently, I am doing them first thing. It's nice to have the workout done and out of the way. Also, the short rest between sets seems to enhance "athleticism." Well, it feels like that, anyway.
(And it's all over so quickly!)How many times a week are you presently doing this routine?
