To me it seems that it is not so important how much you can use of what Bloomberg offers, but if they can deliver what you need - the major news first, before all other also trade on them, so you can get in before the big moves starts.

If all you're looking for is to get the news before anyone ... then bb is prob not worth the money, but if you work in a bank and see what kinda stuff bloomberg provides you can see why all the banks have bloomberg. Money well spent imo. Gettin the news first is one thing ... being able to act on it properly is entirely different

Not the news before anyone...but at the same time as the big traders and the banks.

Tradethenews have a one week trial. You get the news a couple of seconds too late so you miss the knee jerk response. Still possible to wait for a 30-50% retracement over a minute or two before entering a trade.
I prefer RANSquawk. Seems a little quicker and better organised. They just read out the Bloomberg, Reuters etc headlines as they come in but there's still going to be a delay.
