FYI: volume, OI, and volatility are irrelevant in options trading if you intend to keep it till expiration, which should be the default in options trading... So you seem to have not much experience in options trading.

But the little I do know about OPS is that volume is very important. You seem to be the one low on knowledge. Also no, the default shouldn't be to hold to exp. Not for everyone anyway. If it "should" be it would be.
You just confirmed what I said: you lack any experience in options trading...
As said: volume is irrelevant if you are not doing daytrading shaet...
