APS looks simple because of the simple interface but it's not a simple program. SS is kind of confusing to use. It is certainly a good product but I agree it just takes too long to run.
Stratasearch has a fairly steep learning curve. Characteristics like long run times make perfect sense after moving partway up that learning curve and adjusting to brute force searches.
