Straight Talk from The Donald...

Trump Endorses Closing the Border After Brussels, Flip-Flops an Hour Later
by Alex Griswold | 11:22 am, March 23rd, 2016

"Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump endorsed completely closing the borders after the Brussels terrorist attacks Tuesday. He also endorsed not closing the borders after the Brussels terrorist attacks Tuesday.

"Here’s Trump on Fox & Friends at 7:30 AM ET, (transcription courtesy of Townhall):

“I would close up our borders to people until we figure out what is going on. Look at Brussels, look at Paris, look at so many cities that were great cities. Paris is almost as bad. If you look at Paris – Paris is no longer the city of lights. Paris has got a lot of problems. And all you have to do is speak to the people who live there. You look at other places where this same thing has happened.”

"But when asked about his comments an hour later by CBS News’ digital network, Trump denied he said any such thing:

“I didn’t say shut it down. I said you have to be very careful. We have to be very, very strong and vigilant at the borders. We have to be tough. We have people who are coming into our country who are undocumented. We have no idea who they are or where they come from. They could be ISIS-related.”

Trump says one thing and denies he said the same thing later. He does it all the time and has been called on it numerous times. I don't get why he does it, he has to know that they have tape. But yet, more examples pop up on this.

But this isn't flip flopping on a position. He's for tight, strong border control, a wall and tough immigration law. He's never changed that.

Sorry, I don't agree. A border wall isn't some architectural masterpiece like the Great Wall of China.
Apparently calculations of the feasibility and cost of even a chainlink fence along the border have been made and the idea dropped.

the people want a wall. Maybe not a physical wall, but a President who says there should be a wall. The people don't want illegal immigration to be a punishless crime. This has nothing to do with reality. For crying out loud, I am a libertarian and want an open border. But like the people, I want all illegal immigration ended and punished. You do know there never was an actual Iron Curtain?
In that sense there has never been more "wall" between us and Mexico (and Canada). Part of my job is to move stuff across those borders, and since Obama has come into office it has never been harder. There are so many border officers now it seems they have people enough to direct some to spend their day checking for missing commas on paperwork.

Mind? You just said he speaks his ass:

He speaks his mind. And frequently pulls numbers out of his ass. I'm glad you've identified the concept of each. Now catalog the posts accordingly so you can pull them out of your ass when you want to be snarky and throw them back at me.

Perhaps they should be less concerned with paperwork and more concerned with immigrants. Maybe if they were told to focus on immigrants, they'd not spend their time on useless paperwork checking.
