Regarding his position on libel laws, we have to remember he is not a constitutional lawyer so his explanations are not going to be neatly tailored. I think he has a point though. Libel law is far too generous to the media. If you are a public figure, however defined, they can say or print pretty much anything they want about you and you can do nothing, because you have to prove actual malice, meaning they knew it was false.
I also find it wrong that a newspaper can print leaked national security information with no consequences, even when the leaker goes to prison, as has happened in some cases. There is no question such disclosures can do real harm, as the NYT did when it exposed secret CIA detention centers. They wrap themselves in the public's supposed right to know, but the public doesn't have the right to know everything. They don't have the right to know the names of secret agents, or nuclear bomb designs, etc, yet our federal judges have basically given the right to make the determination to dirtbag newspaper editors, most of whom are following a political agenda.
As in some other areas, Trump has a sense that things are out of whack. He may not have the exact prescription at hand to cure the problem, but at least he sees there is a problem.

oh don't go down that road my friend, or it will come back as how is Hillary Clinton any worse than Donald Trump. That is the democrats modus operandi. It doesn't matter anymore how bad our candidate is. Yours is also bad.
