Storm coming in the credit industry.

Quote from PuffyGums:

Until the laws are changed we need to protect ourselves.

Are there any legit 3 in 1, real time credit monitoring services? I looked at True Credit and they only send out weekly notifications. I would like to get immediate notifications upon any change to my credit info.

Call the Credit Reporting Services and request that your file get flagged as fraud victim, which will (allegedly) require any creditor to contact you if credit is opened in your name. All those credit protection services offer nothing you can't do on your own.

Quote from PoundTheRock:

I think the worst news for the credit industry was the New York Times article that profiled people who stuffed their business reply envelopes for credit card applications with lead weights and heavy stock paper. Supposedly, their mailing costs went through the roof after that article because people got sick of receiving junk mail from them.
I usually write across the application in big scribbled letters:

OK - SIGN ME UP!!!! then sign my first name and send the ap back.

This bugs 'em. :D

fair isaac and equifax both offer services and are among the bigger names. try those two. i use scorewatch, which is $8 month. they email whenever something happens - score increased or decreases by a set amount, someone makes an inquiry, etc. these other services prolly repackage info from the above. experion (sp?) also has a service.
