The moderator obviously has a nasty problem indeciding on removing a post or not. If we create a special thread "Removed by moderator" or something alike and move all improper posts to that location, we would perhaps avoid the "censoring trap". Everybody could still look at the removed item(s) and we could arrive at a better concensus about future standards.

Let's hope that this sulution will not multiply into an unwieldy thread by itself!

GO INANDLONG, GO!!!

Finally somebody who makes an effort to make a difference!

I like the notion somebody brought about removing the post-counter. It's annoying, it's irrelevant, and it motivates people to post too much crap. Get rid of it.

I also like what somebody said regarding "Don't say anything here that you wouldn't say in real life to somebody twice your size..."

This is a fantastic point. We should just have a policy that all posts that are insulting, disrespectful, inappropriate, slanderous etc get deleted at will / at complaint. This would so much raise the credibility and hopefully again the quality of this whole board.

- No big swearing,
- No calling names,
- No accusing people
- NO GIGANTIC PASSAGES OF UPPERCAPS
- No bwahahahahaha etc. and other FPC behaviour.

It would be great if the flamers finally got shut up and we wouldn't have to deal with insults anymore. This is the most important point IMHO.

I should say I was considering (together with quite a few friends) to leave the ET boards completely. But seeing inandlongs attempt to make a real difference could just turn the whole thing around and save a sinking ship.

not only that, but you'll have moderators taking sides in issues and deleting stuff that they don't agree with, and you'll have moderators showing favoritism to some at the expense of others.

Again I ask, is Baron keen on this new policy?

In fact combined with Harrytrade and Hershey, you guys have posted 3000 times this year! And nobody has a clue as to what any of you are saying. Hmmm, I think I like that idea. Every forum gets a Crap Thread, kinda like Chit Chat is the crap forum

. Obviously not all deleted posts would go to the crap thread, one's that are clearly out of bounds would be deleted (just as obnoxious threads are now). But, if a post has some merit it could go to the Pile Of Crap.

Of course, we couldn't call it The Crap Pile or anything. Removed by Mod is good, or maybe "The Mod Discards."

another good point. Even with this new policy, if Baron agrees to it, there's still going to be crap posted and the moderators won't even know its crap!
