Rachel Mitchell's report is devastating. One by one, she cites contradictions between Dr. Fraud's written statements, Washington Post interview and testimony. In fact, the only thing that's consistent about Dr. Fraud's story is that it keeps changing.

This episode illustrates why the Founders did not provide for women to vote and why they were excluded from jury pools. Judging from the hysteria, many women think that it is perfectly logical to decide that Ford is truthful either because they themselves had an unfortunate incident or they believe lots of other women have had one.

Of course the democrats encourage this line of thinking ("We believe her") and add an additional one, namely that as a privileged white male, Kavanaugh has plenty to answer for already and is not entitled to any deference. With any other group, this would be assailed as stereotyping or racism and of course democrats would pretend to be appalled by it.

Ford's own parents and siblings have been conspicuously absent from the many orchestrated shows of support for her. It seems odd that they would not offer at least some minimal public statement that she is credible.

There could be many reasons for their reticence, but the most obvious conclusion is that they do not regard her as reliable or credible.

I agree completely. The sex crimes prosecutor actually caught her in 6 lies, but noone is really paying attention.

I dont know where your other post is about voting on Kavanaugh this week, to which I replied that I though it would be into and beyond the middle of next week.

But just as a little update to it, I heard McConnell say that he will hold the vote this week so that comment is sympatico with your position.

And I stay with my projection.

It's all good. Might be somewhere in the middle. Toward tuesday or so.

GIT ER DONE. even if kavanaugh goes down. there is no advantage to going beyond this week. the only thing that would require that would be some procedural hocus pocus. the senate would need to vote to close debate before the final vote and some of the gameplayers might mess with that to extract another pound of flesh which would take us into next week.
