Stop blaming black parents for underachieving kids

You guys are lucky. You can put this fool on ignore and you are done with him. Try living in Washington, DC where his views are mainstream.

Most of my neighbors would be in your face if you dared suggest that blacks are dangerous, violent, lazy and have a severely dysfunctional culture. I wonder why it is that they spend $40k to send their own kids to private school from pre K through high school? I mean, I read that diversity is so damned important for learning and how it makes us stronger. I guess it is only important for poor white kids.

I've truly tried for 13 years to help kids but at the end of the day you have to call it like you see it. A former principal who was instrumental in trying to turn around this failing school once told me the only real hope for most of these kids was if she could have them 24/7 as she knew the crappy life and home they'd go home to each day. Sadly, many people tip toe around the fact that the crux of the problem has to do with home life, including the absence of a father. Write a letter to the editor regarding this and you're accused of being a racist. But the reality is that a disproportionate number of black kids underperform in the classroom as compared to whites or Hispanics. I do this because it's not the kids fault ... it's crappy parents often who seemingly have no interest in their kids well being.

Some kids will make it ... but that smaller group is often where there are 2 parents in the home and they have jobs, even if low paying. But the ever growing poverty problem will continue to get worse as too many people have become dependent on the government to pay for most everything while they do little to improve their life situation.

And whereas I prefer to think of the kids I know I've really helped I know that's a small percentage. One kid told me "thanks for all the times you told me can't is not a word". And others who have actually picked up the phone and called me to say thanks or ask for math work during the summer.

as long as there are non thinking drones by the dozens who would rather bullshit and lie than admit that the war on poverty has made things worse.... we shall have problems.
its not the black people who caused the problem.. its the leftist jerkoffs who have destroyed their families with these destructive incentives. it really disgusts me when they can't even admit things are worse.

I am happy to admit redlining has caused a problem I am happy to admit desegregation has oddly caused problems because black owned businesses got lost in the re shuffle.
Wal mart would have taken them out eventually though.

I would like to see incentives aligned with common sense be put in place.
Instead we have these perverse sick laws which basically makes having a dad around to raise the kids unnecessary .
we also have laws which discourage work.

Screw you leftists... your programs are destroying people and ruining lives.
You want to help start thinking and align your help with laws which build up families and communities.

Yeah, let's give everyone a trophy while we're at it. After all, in liberal fantasy land, it's only good intentions that matter. We wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, no matter how badly they screw up.

You sit back and presume to judge a guy who has spent years volunteering in terrible schools that you would never let your kids attend. His terrible crime? To observe that parental involvement is a crucial factor. What a bastard.

This is the same kind of thinking that produced this mess. You are so squeamish about stigmatizing dysfunctional behavior, whether it is teen pregnancies, crime, irresponsible homo sexual practices, etc., all in the name of moral equivalence or something. But you are quick to attack any perceived" incorrect" thoughts, provided they are held by people in one of the many groups you look down on and despise, eg Christians, Southerners, conservatives, Tea Party supporters, et al.
