come on stock, you can't be that stupid or naive to think that we are not in a recession. This qtr is going to be the first negative gdp qtr, but back out the bs stimulus package and the 2nd qtr would have been much worse, the gov't will play games with the numbers as well...Just wait until q4 gdp #.....ouch

what makes you think the government won't skew those numbers aswell... the numbers have been skewed since q1 08
 
The stock market is a discounting mechanism. Bad GDP numbers for the next few quarters are being priced in. The question is will they be as bad as anticipated?
 
apparently the TIPS 5 year auction today was very bad with very light demand, could this be a bad sign for treasuries??

maybe that is why the market sold off
