Quote from SiSePuede!:
Usually negating someone's accusation with proof means that the accuser was wrong...but since you're Canadian you may not understand such logic.
Nope, I guess I don't understand your logic. I say that you appear to just want to bash everyone, and you cite one example in 1159 of helping someone, and claim that as proof that your goal is to help people.
I find Canadians ignorant about many things including world history, politics, arts, etc. Discussions in detail about politics generally seem to draw blank stares or blind agreement in my experience.
This part of this conversation is going to go nowhere very quickly, but I will cite an example of something I ran into recently. I met an American the other day who told me he felt Candians were very ignorant of politics too. I asked him why he felt that way, and he said "the last Canadians I talked to had no idea who was running for President, or what their platforms are...."
I sure hope you can find the humor in that statement.
But in all seriousness, do you really believe Americans are knowledgable in those areas, or are you just trying to use this as ammunition? The countries voting rate is abysmal, and I wonder if a large part of Americans even know they are supposed to vote!
Yeah, that is sad. Does that tell you Candians are ignorant, or does it tell you that they made the test very difficult? My guess is somewhere in the middle.
What's funny is that Canadians beat (very handily, I might add) American's in reading, writing, math and science measured by PISA.

On the literacy tests, so did New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Korea, Japan, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Iceland, Norway and France.
However, if knowledge about your own country is your standard of measurement for ingorance, I'd say American's win. There's nothing like American pride, I tell you.
I didn't generally "accuse" anyone...I made a blanket statement, fully knowing that it was only a broad statement, and don't think all Canadians are naive or ignorant as I've met many intelligent Canadians.
Yes, Canadians are EXTREMELY OBSESSED with the USA.
How many times have you been to Canada? How many people have you met there? While I wouldn't say that we're obsessed with the USA, I would say that because a lot of our media comes from there, we deal with a whole lot of American issues.
Why should I do work for you? Like I said, I don't have anything to prove....my account values are all I really care about and those are extremely satiating.
You should do work for me if you would like to win this argument. That's how debating works.
