Stock Swing Traders

Sounds like you are really starting to gain a good respect for just how hard this game really is.

Quote from coolweb:

some long term/ swing trades

Entered
OXPS 30.55
IMCL 37.05

[both stops todays low ]

Problem:

Extremely small size
30k or so.

Problem #2:

I started out the position with about 1-2k shares each, but then I started selling 1/.2 of it and 1/4th of it,

why? I can't stand the risk if I was wrong.

Problem #3: Swing trades require full attention.
I missed some entries I should have entered with , the problem is,
entering now, whats the use? I'm too scared to go full on, too small of a size to go anywhere.

Missed the train, trying to get on the next cargo train, but ships to alaska instead of california.

Timing is everything,

Todays lesson is tomorrows future.

Daytrading doing great though, making a few k every now and then.

I still have a few hundred k to invest, so what is it

Short term gains, or long term positioning.

Prioritizing time is the key.

I have closed OXPS for a -0.15 lost , was on small size so no biggie.

Trying to enter TDW

I will be trying to enter in energy all day. While keeping risk low.

GOOD SIZE! as well.
No skimping

RISK = LOW.

You're getting desperate here Coolweb, you are avg down AND moving your stops lower and lower. A true recipe for disaster!

Quote from coolweb:

02/17/06 10:48:00 BOUGHT TDW Market Day Executed @ 54.0199

And some @ 54.06

stop - under 50 MA

All exited 53.80 -.25 entry (54.05)

All exited 53.80 on 53.22 ( -.40) (small shares)

Problem.

Correlating with oil, I just noticed 5 minutes ago. Thought it was just the stock.

It wasn't an average down, I could hjave bought anywhere in between 53.00 - >53.30 as I said earlier, was fine with the risk.

This is a swing trade. Not a daytrade.

so I trade by daily stats.

I dont understand what you are seeing in TDW on the long side right now, when you started posting I brought it up and all I saw was someone pelting the bid and ecns flooding lower and lower. The tape didnt show anything for the long side. Was it purely a technical thing?
