Report Examines Iraqi Civilian Deaths
Group: Coalition Cluster Munitions Killed or Wounded More Than 1,000 Iraqi Civilians in Invasion
http://abcnews.go.com/wire/US/ap20031211_2182.html
major investigation of Iraq's wartime civilian casualties was compiled by The Associated Press, which documented the deaths of 3,240 civilians between March 20 and April 20. That investigation, conducted in May and June, surveyed about half of Iraq's hospitals, and reported that the real number of civilian deaths was sure to be much higher.

Just a small sample...
I guess the surviving parents, families etc, should just say thank you and suck it up.. I guess they have lots and lots of loving feeling towards US.. wouldn't you?
Ahhh yes, before you come out swinging that these casualties were accidental... THE WAR ON IRAQ WAS/IS DELIBERATE and a fraud.!!![]()
There is no excuse, for anyone that kills innocent civilians. Period.
Terrorists are scum!!! period.... but so are the ones who help create them.![]()

Keep in mind, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
As it happens, I opposed the invasion of Iraq, and do not support Bush. Feel free to check my post history for confirmation. In addition, I entirely agree that the coalition took insufficient steps to avoid civilian casualties in the war - but at no point did I say otherwise. Both your accusations are false.
You also say there is no excuse for anyone that kills innocent civilians. So presumably if someone walks out in front of your car with no warning, and you accidentally kill them, then there is "no excuse" and you should be charged with murder? Utter codswallop.
You also say that "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter". This ignores the distinction between legitimate resistance movements, which target military/occupation/government forces only, and terrorist resistance movements, which deliberately target innocent civilians who have done no wrong. The French resistance in WWII (facing much worse odds than Hamas et al) did not have a policy of butchering innocent German civilians. In contrast, Hamas, the PLO, Al-Queda and their ilk deliberately target innocent civilians as a routine matter. Are you telling me you can't see any moral distinction between the two?
As for industrial targets, if a factory is helping the war effort, then it and the workers in it become legitimate targets for the enemy. Japan could legitimately bomb US plane and tank factories in WWII under the rules of war. But civilians and POWs who are *not* part of the ongoing war effort are not legitimate targets, as made clear by the Geneva convention and international law. It is therefore wrong to target them (e.g. Japanese executing POWs, Allied planes shooting refugees outside Dresden etc). Thus Hamas etc, if their cause is justified, can legitimately hit Israeli army bases, soldiers, construction of the Palestine dividing wall, government buildings etc - but they have no legitimate right to attack random innocent civilians going about their normal business.
