Stochastics and MACD Histogram for daytrading?

Oscillators are useless indicators.

Anyone claiming edge by oscillator usage is showing its true ignorant colors.

Samples posted are cherry picked based on optimal conditions for the oscillators.

Sorry you got diverted up the 'hershey highway' on this thread.

I use oscillators as part of my daytrading strategy. Some thoughts:

1. Don't necessarily settle for the charting package defaults. Play around with different settings.

2. Use multiple timeframes for the same studies. 5, 10, 30, 60 minutes and etc.

3. Always know the daily and weekly timeframe oscillator action for your market of interest.

4. When daytrading oscillators, be careful about the amount of time you allow for the positoin to prove itself correct. You need some order flow behind you - don't be the only one in the market convinced that the price is 'overbought' or 'oversold'.

Good Luck.

Nexen, I'm happy to be an ignorant profitable day trader :D

Bone, re #4, AMEN!

It's probably due to something else ND, definitely not the oscillator.

Every tool tells you a little bit about the market.
The key is to know what the tool is telling you at certain time of the market.

The prior graph makes a few points regarding how often a person has to trade to make money of how long getting rich takes.

Another one that has never made a single cent in his life.
