In 2012, the aliens (or possibly humans from a parallel universe) are coming to collect the gold we have been mining for them! I have not yet determined if they they will permit us to live beyond that point.

Who knows what will happen after that.....
I hope they take off with the gold, but leave us with new technologies. There are so many exciting technologies 100-200 years out, and I wish I could live to see them =(
