Steely Dan, Trading

In the mornin you go gunnin'
for the man who stole your water
and you fire till he is done in
but they catch you at the border
and the mourners are all singin'
as they drag you by your feet
but the hangman isn't hangin'
and they put you on the street

You go back Jack do it again
wheel turnin' round and round
you go back Jack do it again

When you know she's no high climber
then you find your only friend
in a room with your two timer
and you're sure you're near the end
then you love a little wild one
and she brings you only sorrow
all the time you know she's smilin'
you'll be on your knees tomorrow

you go back jack do it again
wheel turnin round and round
you go back jack do it again

Now you swear and kick and beg us
that you're not a gamblin man
then you find you're back in Vegas
with a handle in your hand
your black cards can make you money
so you hide them while you're able
in the land of milk and honey
you must put them on the table

you go back jack do it again
wheel turnin round and round
you go back jack do it again

Good SD lyrics for a losing week...

THIRD WORLD MAN

Johnny's playroom
Is a bunker filled with sand
He's become a third world man

Smoky Sunday
He's been mobilized since dawn
Now he's crouching on the lawn
He's a third world man

When youuuu come around......,
No more pain and no regrets.
Watch the sun go down.......,
Smoking coke on cigarettes.
There's no need to hide....,
Living life the easy way.
If I stay inside.....,
I might live till Saturday.

He don't hang around with the gang no more
He don't do the wild things that he did before
He used to act bad
Used to but he quit it
It makes me so sad
‘Cause I know that he did it for me
I can see
His heart
His heart is out in the street
He don't comb his hair like he did before
He don't wear those dirty old black boots no more
But he's not the same
There's something 'bout his kisses that tells me he's changed
I know there's something missing inside
Something died
His heart
His heart is out in the streets
He grew up on the sidewalk streetlights shining above
He grew up with no one to love
He grew up on the sidewalk
He grew up running free
He grew up and then he met me
He don't hang around with the gang no more
Gee he doesn't smile like he did before
I wish I didn't care
I wish I'd never met him
They're waiting out there
So I got to set him free
He's gotta be
Out in the street
His heart
His heart is out in the street
He don't hang around with the gang no more
{He's out in the street}
He don't hang around with the gang no more
He don't hang around with the gang no more
{He's out in the street}
He don't hang around with the gang no more
