If a trader were lucky enough to stumble on an extraordinarily successful edge, are there practical steps the trader should take to “camouflage” entries and exits, to prolong the period before other traders notice what’s going on and then either front-run or fade the edge ... ?

1) You can trade through multiple brokerage firms where each firm would only "see" a limited picture of what you are doing.
2) You can establish your own clearing entity.
3) Do you play a lot of poker or blackjack?
