Trump Media & Technology Group, the owner of struggling social media platform Truth Social, began its long-delayed journey as a public company at Tuesday’s opening bell under the ticker symbol “DJT.”

The stock surged about 56% at the open, to $78, and trading was briefly halted for volatility. Trump Media shares stabilized around $70 before fizzling. By the closing bell, Trump Media ended at $57.99, up by a more modest 16% on the day.

Despite the late-day slide, Wall Street is still assigning Trump Media an eye-popping valuation of nearly $11 billion — a price tag that experts warn is untethered to reality.

The skyrocketing share price comes despite the fact that Trump Media is burning through cash; piling up losses; and its main product, Truth Social, is losing users.

Trump Media generated just $3.4 million of revenue through the first nine months of last year, according to filings. The company lost $49 million over that span, yet its valued at $11 billion. Reddit was only valued at $6.4 billion at its IPO last week — even though it generated 160 times more revenue than Trump Media.

Bottom line: Trump Media is likely worth somewhere around $2 a share — nowhere near its closing stock price of $58.

How can you earn $$$$ if you deliberately avoid the trading opportunity?
When there a a trading opportunity, don't run away from it!

Why don't you short it as it is worth only $2?

I have just remembered, you buy and sell soya.

Do some research and find that shares of Digital World Acquisition Corp., the shell company that became Trump Media Tuesday morning, have spiked more than 200% so far this year.

So it does not mean that price will fall to $2.

Away with your shorting. That's not for me. Period.
 
Likely, Trump's first major stumble, such as a conviction - or even an emergency trip to the hospital -- and the stock will gap down to $ 2 or less.
There are some stocks, some situations, that are too risky to trade. A good trader knows when to identify and avoid those situations.
There will be some whom make fortunes from DJT, either long or short, but that does not make either a good trade.

However, see my idea on related topic, to try and obtain 1-share physical certificates. Likely, in few years, regardless what happens to the man, the certificate will be a collectible.
 
President Donald Trump had like 74 million votes cast for him in the November 8, 2020 elections. That is a lot of votes. Assuming that 1 million Trump voters decides to buy some shares of DJT, how much do you think the stock will rise? Add to that the fact that DWC was an incubator for investments and was in the business of acquiring companies. Much like Warren Buffet did in buying See's candies, GEICO, etc. Also, the monies that was raised can be used to buy back shares of DJT if they just wanted to punish all those short the stock? Cutting down the shares available is one sure way to make the share prices rise. AMZN did not have earnings and was losing monies when it was listed as an IPO. GME remember that? Its share price rose as retail traders kept buying its shares and then, some hedge funds joined in. DJT also, has a substantial short interest like GME. If DJT runs up big, the shorts will be buying shares to save themselves. That or go, entirely broke.
