I have data sample example A and B attached, both with a linear line thru the data, Exp A has more scattered data than B.

How does one measure the degree of the scattered data points to the linear line, is that normal standard distribution or something else ?

ig0r is correct if the line is least square fitted. You don't mention this - is it?
