State Makes It Legal to Shoot Cops in Self-Defense If They Violate Your Rights

Basic principles in self defense laws embody the right of reasonable self defense against an agent of the state. It is good to see it codified in this case.
 
i'm not so sure ...the keyword is "unlawful". how would you know the action is unlawful?

let's say they kick your door in,you're innocent and you know it (but of what?:confused:) they have a lawful warrant?

this bill is a recipe for disaster, driving yet another wedge b/w citizens and LE:eek:

This can be a slippery slope, but I am concerned about these cases where the cops stage a late night SWAT raid on the wrong house. If the homeowner defends his home and family, he will likely be killed and if not, charged with a felony.
 
It's for the best. Many instances where cops SWAT the wrong house and kill people. Let them catch a few bullets to wake their dumb asses up. Cops aren't above the law, and their lives are no more important then us 'civilians'.

Look at it this way - if they're doing nothing wrong, what do they have to worry about? That's what they keep telling us, right?

The real problem is middle of the night SWAT raids for minor offenses. That should be reserved for terrorists or violent drug cartel takedowns. Stop the idiotic War on Drugs and you eliminate 90% of the justifiication for these raids in the first place.

The only reason they should be kicking down a door is because you are a threat. If they haven't done enough research and kick in the wrong door, sorry. If I had enough time to get my gun they would be shot at. period. How about if they kick down my door and shoot someone inside because they were getting oreo cookies at 3am?

I agree but you will be shooting at highly trained SWAT cops wearing full body armor and carrying automatic weapons. And they'll probably wake you up with a stun grenade.

These kinds of raids are way overdone. In many cases the targets could be arrested easily when they leave their houses. If you give these cops, particularly small town cops, a bunch of military gear and train them like they are Delta Force, they are going to look for opportunities to use it.
