This is a shocker. The State Department is proposing absurd time frames for releasing public documents relating to Hillary Clinton's many conflicts of interest as Secretary of State. After initially saying there were some 7000 documents responsive to a request under litigation, now they say there are over 30,000. Oops. The request is highly relevant to the elections, as it concerns Hillary and her aides' intersecting work for State, the Clinton slush fund, and a PR firm they set up.
Part of the problem is the sheer volume of responsive documents, which in itself should raise plenty of questions. I'm sure the democrats and their media allies would have raised the roof if a republican Secretary had massive conflicts like this, then stonewalled disclosure. Not to worry, congressional republicans are deathly afraid of offending Hillary or the media, so they won't say anything. They're too busy plotting against Trump anyway.
This should be a priority for State, and the Justice Department should force them to obey the law. Not in this administration. In fact, the litigation revealed that State is devoting minimal resources to this. The judge, an Obama appointee, is in a difficult spot but being a liberal democrat, he knows what is expected of him. If not, Bill Clinton could perhaps have a private talk with him to set him straight.
