Anyone who wants to retire at 30 doesn’t understand the importance of purpose in life and the unimportance he will feel as his friends continue to do bigger and bigger things with their lives as each decade that passes.
Sitting around and doing nothing gets old very fast. Maybe you can do it for a few months to a year right after quitting your job. Someone who is disciplined and motivated enough to save and invest for financial independence is not gonna be the type to rot away in my opinion. You just have way more time to pursue your hobbies and passions until you become an expert, at that point income will start rolling in but on your own terms.
No i haven't Iron, but without the fund, it's still relates to personal taste of humor.

It's Like Tony Robins story about one of his friends/clients, sold his bis for $2 B, got excited for 2 months, ,, yeah, party, living adream", then one night, few months later , 3 am, Tony gets a call from him, depression etc.
Gave a simple, - get back into doing something and work your ass off as you did prior.
Few months later, man walks with the smile one more.
Yes, he mentions that point in the vid, this way, it sounds really excited. More people, should share such vision.

I am so glad that I read it in my early 20's right after finishing University. It's a bit extreme for most people but you gotta do what you gotta do to live the lifestyle and freedom that you really want.
The other side of the argument is that people that go this route are Peter Pan's that want to live in Nevernever Land, instead of growing up and taking on responsibility.
It is a trade like anything else in life.

The reality, most people work for money and the jobs is means to obtain money. they don't 'love' their 'job' that would be a like, they love the money from working in the job and social interactions etc but the job itself suck. like daytrading sucks as a job

Why work if you are rich. you can own a business and collect dividends and interest, there isn't enough jobs to go around. a rich guy competing for limited jobs, there are people who need a job. I mean you have rich people in their 60's who won't retire,,less jobs for young people who have student debts etc. and mortgages to pay. mandatory retirement in China in many gov't and corporate jobs. and many countries. in some countries police retire at age 50 and start collecdting a pension.

only way you can do that is starting a business and selling out your shares and ipo into the fraud stock market racket,,no job will make you retire at age 30. most legit business need at least 5 years of investment before making a profit.
