NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose on Thursday, with the Dow hitting fresh all-time closing and intraday highs, as stronger-than-expected sales at coffee chain Starbucks Corp. (NASDAQ:SBUX - News), and robust September sales at some department and clothing stores increased optimism about corporate profits.
