Stages of a Trader

I maintained a journal once upon a time. I'm very disciplined so it was the same thing everyday, like recording a machine would.

I keep records like everyone else to gauge performance and how much it deviates from expectations.

Did you ever use those records to develop a trading plan?

Listen up dbphoenix and everyone else!

My boss (Satan himself) can make anyone a excellent and profitable trader. All you need to do is sign a work assistant contract and offer him yourself.

It is not the Holy Grail but it is much better.....

Anyone?

If I didn't have a plan I wouldn't be trading at all. It's not in my style to go into something unless I've thought it through and through beforehand and know exactly what I'm going to do. I'm too much of a pussy to go into situations blind.

Is the plan consistently profitable?

Is the plan consistently profitable?

It goes from very profitable (~100%) one year to break even or slight loss the next then back to very profitable again. This is based on 4-5 years of data. All exits assume hit no fill unless price moves past.

Trade frequency is about 10-15 per month.

I've tweaked it many many times since its inception and the most profitable way is still the original.

What accounts for the variation?
