I used version 8 for a long time and found 10.4 to be the best release since 8. I'd recommend that version too.

Without hesitation, we feel the latest 10.5 version is the best and most stable version we've released since 8.0. Throughout the beta and during the early release days, customers have agreed. You can download 10.5 here.

10.4 has been the most stable for me. Had to downgrade from 10.5 because it kept re-arranging the order of my products in quote windows.

Sounds like you had auto-sorting on or something similiar. There was an issue with toolbars that was addressed in the maint released of 10.5. You might want to try the latest version on the download site again.
