Spyware debugging

I didn't even know what spyware was until last week, but I have since learned what this stuff is, and how it can mess with cpu functioning. For those who don't know, spyware are little programs(if that's the right way to describe them) that are installed on your computer by agressive internet sites, without your knowledge, to monitor your internet activity. They then gather data on you and sell it to various parties. These programs can slow down cpu function, as well as sometimes cause other problems. I ran both these programs yesterday and the increase in the speed of my cpu was significant. Anyway, run BOTH the programs linked below to clear these things off your cpu:

Ad-aware can be found @ www.lavasoftusa.com

Use firewall products to monitor secret inbound and outbound network connection.

Spell and get yourself familiar with all the processes running on your machine in Taskman(Windows), ps/top(Unix/Linux).

Trust noware. Keep your system/software configuration simple. Use a firewall and monitor all connections and processes.
Use different boxes for different tasks. For example, trade/quote/chart on one box, quote/news/broadcasting on another box, game on a third, porno on a fourth, write to mama on a fifth. Just an idea. tailor it to what makes you feel comfortable.
