Sorry, never mind. I don't have snippet. I was reviewing all the fundamentals on change/continuation to try and see what I have been missing. If the above questions are too hard to answer without a chart snippet, I must be so far off base as to not warrant further effort.
For you, sometimes a chart is warranted to see if your descriptors correspond to what another person would see. If not, then the answer they post will not be of any value to you and just another post that did not understand your initial question. As for me, you already know what I am going to say...

You have developed a skill worth addopting. Could you provide us with a clue or glimpse of your approach to figuring things out on your own. For example: what is the first question or two you ask yourself in order to decipher the data you have observed?

You are asking MAK how do I teach myself? MAK or anyone else can't possibly answer that. Only you know how to teach yourself.
As far as the other topic on laterals - well two people now have suggested a chart snippet and none is posted.

Is it not possible to give Bundlemaker the answers to his questions? It appears he is feeling really frustrated despite working so hard.
I detect sarcasm, frustration and anger in some of your tones. I know sometimes I feel terribly confused and seek help behind the scenes, which is usually forthcoming. Instead of saying "work it out yourself," how about pointing him in the right direction?
I appreciate that some of you are very gifted in this field, however the rest of us simply can't see with your "eyes." Therefore we ask more questions, work that much harder but at a slower pace. In the end we all hope to "get there." We all have strengths and weaknesses in different fields, it's just matter of working and sharing together. We have done ever so well so far, let's continue!

My post was sincere and legitamate. Spyder has time and again discussed trying different perspectives. I invite you to do the same. Asking Mak this question is an underpinning of NLP and it WORKS GREAT! Try it sometime. I was honestly attempting to expand my perspective and instead you try and shoot me down. If you don't believe it's possible to learn how others learn you are missing out on a huge opportunity. No wonder you must think I'm a dodo if you have a belief as you just posted.
I did not post a chart snippet becasue I don't have one at my fingertips. The questions stemmed from previous observations. And, moreover, it stemmed from carefully reviewing the Jokari matrix. It is incomplete, even Jack said so. I can't help it if I'm detail oriented. Go look at the matrix. It's missing combinations. One combination it's missing is where volume is NOT moving at all, and Jack has stated this indicates price drifting lower. Another possibel value for the matix is where price is not moving and and volume is. Which led me to consider whether bar ends are more or less important than bar closes.
I'd be happy to post chart snippets of exact scenarios when I see them. In the mean time, please review the 3 bar by bar sequences in this graphic. For each pair of bars, all I'm asking is which constitutes change and which continuation.
SPyder made it clear (to the point of demeaning me) that there is no in between. It's either change or it's continuation. So, after 9 months, shouldn't we ALL be able to answer these 3 simple scenarios?
