Definitely got more out of SYNL today than I thought would be there. Glad you got some of that CDN. Sold at 22.72 when price finally stalled this am.

Sold NGA pretty quick, sold at 8.00, left a little out there, but I'd rather be conservative with a "removed" stock.

From Friday-
Bought SYNL at 20.03, sold at 22.72 + 13.4%
Bought NGA at 7.43, sold at 8.00 + 7.6%

Today-
Bought SOLF again, was in a nice place in the channel - below mid way of a wide (50%) channel. Got fooled a little on this one, I'm down on it now, would have sold near the high, but the PDT gets in the way again. Gotta think about transfering some money around. Started strong and I was up 5-6%, but then retraced all afternoon. It looks like this retrace might be its' "personality", seems to do this every day. On the daily though, looks ok, not great. MIGHT be a holder, we'll see. This is the weakest of the 3 I think.

Bought SYX, had 2 days of inc black, but no extreme levels, so looks ok for another day or 3. Broke through a RTL of a down channel and then went up on strong volume. This may last a few days, but as with other "removed" stocks, I'll be very conservative.

Bought SMSI, had 1 day of inc black. Got in a little later than optimum, it's actually down a few .01's right now. But I had my $ in SYNL. But I think that this could be held for a few days also. Below bottom 1/2 of the channel. Recovered nicely eod on decent volume.

Bought SOLF at 13.33, now 13.28 - .2%
Bought SYX at 20.75,now 21.14 + 1.8%
Bought SMSI at 16.86,now 16.70 - 1%

Can I ask how other people do their culling and sorting? I have read most of the threads and I use stocktables.com to get the initial list of approx 100 and my trading software can generate average volumes and the like. For getting rank and estimating DU I currently use the Wealth-Lab scripts although I will probably shift this to the trading software in time.

However, as far as I can see the culling for float and EPS needs to be done manually - quite a task for several dozen stocks. Is there a way to automate either fully or at least in part the float and EPS checks? At the moment I am pulling up the Yahoo page for each one and checking for positive EPS and float, which takes quite a while.

Thanks
Suss

First time in Spydertrader's thread since 2 yrs ago when I followed Journal I briefly. Now that I'm no longer shackled by personal trading policies and junk, I can trade freely.

Bought TASR on Monday as it broke DU and MACD/Stoch positive/80+. Held through today and it has reached peak. Will sell tomorrow in the first 30 mins. So far a gain of 3.8%.

First JH trade using beginner method.

Was conservative today - saw the the "market was gonna be down so I got out of all at the first sign of a retrace.

Thought SOLF was gonna hurt me the worst today but ended up being the best, Go figure.

Almost bought GROW and TASR also, but I'm still conservative with my trading, like the saying goes, there will be another train coming shortly. So decided to not buy today - needed a retrace after yesterday's rocket....

Has anyone checked out the newbie JRJC? Jeeze, in 10 days it's gone from $15 to $43.....

I'll post a watch list later.

in jack's journal, he states that the middle list (1's) should be taken from continuing up from the bottom list (0's). pg 19 post 3 http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showt...ghlight=hershey equities thread&pagenumber=19

in these journals spyder has the bottom list as the 1's
"The short list from the bottom I entered as portfolio "1's". The short list from the top I entered as portfolio "7's"."

spyder also says to take what he refers to as 0's from the middle (stocks with no %volchg) of the list.

so there are two huge discrepancies:
1. Jack called the bottom list 0's (he called this the most important list) whereas spyder has the bottom as the 1's.

2. Jack said to look at the stocks directly above (what he called) 0's to find (what he called) the 1's whereas spyder says to get them from the middle of the list.....

can anybody try to help me straighten this out?

I've been using Telechart for a few years -

You can screen for all the parameters that Spyder/Jack recommend.

Price
Avg volume
EPS rank
RS rank
Float
Insider owned
Institutional owned

I get a different list, however, cuz after some checking around, RS ranking is a proprietary(sp?) thing that each company has their own formula to give a rank.

To be honest, using stocktables is better, cuz more people use it, so you get more interest/volatility with that.
