I have been looking into the more advanced methods, gaussians in particular.

In the writen material as well as the IBD videoes, it is mentioned that R2R happen at the end of an uptrend and B2B happen at the end of an downtrend.

I have, however, seen several examples of a R2R at the end of an uptrend. Are these signales to be ignored, or are a R2R a general indicator for change? (both in a up/downtrend)

Thanks in advance :)

I suspect a case of mixing resolutions, chart with channels please.

The Futures Journal contains many discussions on Gaussians, as well as, how the Gaussians allow the trader to anticipate continuation vs change. R2R and B2B indicate change. However, how the B2B or R2R materializes allows a trader to know in advance that change is on the horizon (even before the R2R or B2B takes place).

spydertrader-

Thanks for the quick response. Dealing with rockets, stochastic has two lines %k (upper line) and %d (lower line). For going long over the 80, does the upper line have to cross 80 or the lower line (along with being .40)? The same as for shorts at 20 (-.40) which I'm guessing would be the opposite line from the long.

As there has been lots of action lately in the futures journal regarding pennants, I was hoping we could also incorporate them into this journal also.

Specifically, symmetric/lateral, ftp, and fbp.

I currently ordered a book by laurence connors that should help with pennnant formations. I will let you know how it goes once the book arrives.

Hope this is on topic for Hershey's Equities journal.

Gooch87 used to trade Equities looking for a Pennant BO on a five minute fractal. Send him a PM, and maybe he will articulate his thought process here. He now follows the ES (Futures) Journal exclusively - trading the ES before work.

Hi tradingbug,

Here is a document I pasted together from an old website. The link is at the top of the document. Be sure your popup blocker is on full alert:D I used pennants to enter on a 5 min fractal. On stocks coming out of dryup where volume was above or going to be above .22 before 11 am. On the 5 min, pennants were very common. I posted a few example trades in journal 2.
