I'm wondering if someone could help me figure out how to get the training videos running. I started by downloading the charting basics video, but all I get is the sound (no picture). I'm using Windows Media Player. I also tried using Quicktime and the same thing happened. Also, the IBD meetup videos look like they all down load at the same time which will take around 16 hours. Is there any way to get them to download individually? Any help will be appreciated.

Angie

You need to download the codec from this post, if you haven't already.

Can anyone tell me the latest chart scripts which people use in the equities method? And yes I have read everything.

I know the order is:

1. stocktables export
2. rank scan
3. dry up scan

but which is the newest versions?

I think your correct first step was choosing the right shipper from our current 3 in the universe to trade. I traded TBSI and made a buck off of it. Both EXM and DRYS blew that performance away since the date I mentioned them.

Great decision. I think you'll hit your target.

I had VDSI and a few others in play today.

For my unrelated trading I took a large position in EWZ (Brazil ETF) that I'll hold through December assuming the Fed action and the market moves yesterday are confirmation that the Aug 16 low is it for now.

VDSI was a solid performer today. I had it for technical reasons but if I recall it was not in DU, or am I mistaken?

FWIW, you could have bought it even after it was up 1.00 USD.

My chart for DRYS. I like to draw channels for larger time frames too, to see the bigger picture.

Since I learned so much on the last trade I posted, I thought I'd try another. I picked up DRYS calls yesterday, choosing OCT 70 calls. I waited for the P3 to be confirmed this time, and hopefully it will make it to the LTL, at which point I'll exit. This is a snapshot right before I entered, before the fed announcement.

IV is at %68, a slight increase over last week, but down about %12 from a month ago. Theta shouldn't be a problem with this timeline and delta is at .92, so I'm hoping to get some bang for my buck out of this one. If the price hits the LTL (around 84 on my chart) the calls will be worth around $15 each.

All comments greatly appreciated!

I had this posted in the Futures thread but I was told to post my question in the Equities thread.

I have a question about Rockets.

On the MACD tool. What are we using to distinguish the .40 / .-40? MACD has lines and it has bars in the same chart.

I'm guessing the short line on MACD matches with the short line in Stoch and vice versa. Correct?

I have another question (the reason for the edit):

I understand MACD shoudl be set at 5, 13, 6. What does 13 and 14 in the indicators mean?

Use a MACD Histogram, and add horizontal lines at +.4 and -.4 on the indicator window.

The settings are 5, 13, 6, not at least. This web site explains the MACD.
