Thanks for sharing your Excel sheets. I look forward to the future and seeing the results of your work. I am sure we all appreciate the effort required. If you locate a way to import Worden's Balance of Power into Excel, please let me know. With BoP, I can finally finish automating the "scoring" process separate from the stocktables.com lists.

Thanks Spyder. I will cross reference your response with info from other threads to see how it fits into my understanding. I appreciate your efforts.

All other NEWBIES, just trying to expedite the learning curve by providing some more convenience tools. I as said I would, I have now added charting into the Auto Scoring sheet. Nothing fancy, just ordinary excel chart sheet for our master lists. I took great effort to adjust the size, color, and characteristics to assist Newbs with your NLP. However, this is adjusted for my screen setting of 1400 x 1050... If you stare long enough at the majority of charts generated, you will begin to notice the subtle P,V relationship Jack identifies (ie. volume movement preceding price action). No need to look intently at the graphs as tho they're some stereograph, but I'm hoping that the characteristics of the graphs will help others like myself to "eyeball" the P,V cycles of the desired price trends. You will need to see it for yourself, but perhaps it's just me :). In any event, if you are really eager to see the code, it's really nothing special at all. The password is G33M4K (case sensitive) in case you desire to take apart the internals and refine for your own personal needs. To run, paste in your stocktables list and run the ScanMaster macro...

NJOY & Regards,
G33M4K

NP (NO PROBLEM :))... I can't help it, I find this stuff extremely fascinating.

Yes... The elusive BoP. Funny you should mention this but Wealthscript claims that they have the series and you can simply add the series to your wealthscript chart. I am not a wealthscript pro and frankly, I can't seam to exactly replicate they're functions which I find extremely frustrating. However, I am attempting to reverse engineer BoP (ie. find a set of value/coefficients/indicators whose combination can nearly exactly correspond with Worden's BoP). I have to be careful with wording here. I am working under the pretense that the constituents of BOP are also available to everyone else. I presume reverse engineering BOP is completely legal where as finding and using the code from BOP would stop me from being able to share my efforts I presume. We are here to share... Are we not??? In any event, I will continue to truck along with my spare time efforts :D ...

Regards...

The "Wall Street Analyzer" free charting program provides Balance of Power as one of its indicators. Since WSA uses Yahoo to update the charts (and indicators), it is safe to assume the 'formula' for BoP uses data available from Yahoo. Perhaps, if you disassembled The WSA Program, you would find how they calculate BoP.

Just a thought .....

Spydertrader,

How useful would it be to have an Excel macro that sorts your universe/hotlists by volume surges? That is, brings to the top those stocks where volume is pushing them up, and which stocks volume is pushing most, compared to it's dry up values or yesterdays values?

If it would be useful, I may be able to write something like that.

Currently, I sort my Watch List via volume using Medved Quotetracker ( http://www.medved.net/quotetracker/ ) for monitoring. I think it might be very helpful to have the ability to sort via the criteria you suggest. MBTrading has a page on their web site that allows for such a sort, but does not focus solely on Hot List Stocks. You have to wade through the page to look at your focus group of stocks. This following link takes you to the page mentioned. Clicking the arrows at the top of the columns allows for sorting by any criteria.

Thanks much for the offer.

Whatever happened to ALDN and SMTS? It is possible I missed a post, so I will go back through.

SMTS should be on today's Watch List. I failed to copy and paste correctly. ALDN is not currently in Dry Up for Today. Thank-you for bringing it to my attention.

I have been reading JH post for about 4 years now and admire his resilience and willingness to help others.
I was not able to profitably trade even his beginners method so I never continued to study any further.
Would it be possible that some of you who are successful with JH method post some of recent stock entries and exits ? I would like to go back and review these method on your current trades. All I would like to get is a symbol, entry and exit.
Thanks
