2005-04-13, Wednesday - Update

I apologize for the tardiness of this update, but the delay was unavoidable.

Our system, generated one trade signal today. At 10:22 AM, actual volume for SNDA exceeded calculated 50% pro-rata volume. We had price improvement, and a positive MACD (+.0592). Unfortunately, The Stochastic Indicator failed to exceed (70.0117) our desired parameters. As a result, I took no action with respect to SNDA.

My data indicated that SNDA met the buy criteria at 10:30 yesterday.
Here is my 30 min. chart of SNDA. The bar to the right ended at 10:30. As you can see the StochK was at 94.97 and D was at 85.82. MACD was positive. We agree that volume was sufficient.
It's got me beat. I wish I could figure out the discrepancies. I must be doing something wrong.

I'm also use QCharts and I agree that SNDA met the criteria.

Spydrtrader stated several times (correctly if I may add) that results may vary depending on the data vendor.

Take care

COGT also met the criteria using QCharts. I bought 20 shares of each.
SNDA got stopped out today at the 5% loss. COGT was still breaking even the last time I checked.

BTW - Spydertrader, why did SNDA and COGT leave your watch list?

Based on the Qcharts data and the indicators derived from that data, everything appeared to you to reside within desired parameters. As a result, you took the trade. I don't see where you did anything incorrectly. Losses remain as much a part of trading as profits.

I couldn't get Qcharts to respond yesterday, so I used Scottrade data. Today, the Qcharts data works fine. I don't know why I had difficulty the day before.

Because neither stock found itself "In Dry Up" on the day before. All Watch List stocks have an actual volume less than calculated Dry Up Volume the day before.

My mistake. I confused the watch list with the final universe.
